Hidden Plaque Revealed: Scott’s Story
Not all coronary artery disease (CAD) is visible on traditional tests. In this video, Scott, a Heartflow patient in Boston, shares how our advanced imaging and analysis revealed high-risk, non-calcified plaque that standard calcium scoring and stress tests had missed. By identifying non-calcified plaque and quantifying its impact on blood flow, Scott’s doctors were able to intervene in time, preventing a potentially life-threatening event.
“We’re only now starting to see that CT actually gives us a lot more information beyond stenosis. And I think this is shifting us from fixing the problem to really working on preventing the problem in the first place.”
– Madhavi Kadiyala, M.D., Director of Cardiac MRI and CT, Tufts Medical Center
Scott’s story highlights how Heartflow provides a more complete view of coronary plaque, enabling physicians to act on early, actionable insights rather than waiting for obstructive disease or cardiac events to happen.
